Bubo Bubo with fire-eyes

Fascinated by birds of prey and owls I painted this Eurasian eagle-owl in watercolour.
Did you knew that this owl is able to stare directly into sunlight?
It's based on a photo we took ourselves in France (Alsace) in a animal parc.
A few years ago I had the opportunity to assist in a bird of prey show in my hometown.
I helped with an eurasian owl, named MAYA, something I enjoyed very much!
I was amazed by the light weight of the bird and the very soft feathers.
